FAQs
Is Little Shawnee Chapel a church?
Little Shawnee Chapel is a privately owned wedding venue designed to feel like a traditional chapel — vaulted ceilings, stained glass, wooden pews, and timeless architecture — without religious requirements or affiliation.
Your ceremony can be religious, nonreligious, spiritual, traditional, modern, or completely personalized to you.
How many guests can fit in the chapel?
The chapel seats up to 40 guests in the pews, plus your wedding party and officiant at the front.
Most couples are surprised by how spacious it feels once they walk in. The vaulted ceilings, natural light, and layout create an intimate atmosphere without feeling cramped.
How many guests can the reception space hold?
The adjoining Clubhouse accommodates up to 50 guests for receptions, cocktail hours, dinners, and celebrations.
Because the reception space is directly next door to the chapel, guests can easily transition between spaces without driving or coordinating transportation.
Can we have both the ceremony and reception in the same place?
Yes. Many couples choose our Ceremony + Reception package so the entire wedding day happens in one location.
Your guests can attend the ceremony in the chapel, then simply walk next door to the Clubhouse for cocktails, dinner, and dancing.
No venue hopping. No transportation logistics. No losing time between events.
What’s included in an elopement?
Our elopement package includes private access to the chapel for a simple ceremony with the couple, 2 witnesses, and the officiant.
Many couples choose elopements because they want:
-
a meaningful ceremony
-
beautiful wedding photos
-
an intimate atmosphere
-
a more affordable option
-
a wedding that feels personal rather than overwhelming
Officiating services can also be added if needed.
Will it still feel like a “real” wedding?
Absolutely.
You’ll walk down an aisle, exchange vows in front of the people who matter most, and celebrate in a space designed specifically for weddings.
Many couples actually find smaller weddings feel more emotional, personal, and memorable because they’re able to fully experience the moment with the people closest to them.

Do we need to bring our own officiant?
Not unless you want to.
We also offer optional in-house officiating services for couples who want a simpler planning process.
What’s the difference between your officiant options?
We offer different officiating options depending on how personalized you’d like your ceremony to feel.
Our simpler officiating option is perfect for couples wanting a straightforward ceremony with vows and rings ($195-$295)
Our custom officiating option includes a more personalized ceremony experience with custom scripting, storytelling, and planning conversations tailored to your relationship ($395)
We’re happy to help you decide which option fits your wedding best.
Do you offer day-of coordination?
Yes. Our optional coordination add-on is designed for couples who want extra support managing the flow of the wedding day.
A member of our team can help:
-
direct guests
-
coordinate vendors
-
manage the timeline
-
assist with setup flow
-
handle unexpected issues behind the scenes
If you prefer a more hands-on or DIY approach, that’s completely fine too.
Can we decorate the chapel and reception space?
Yes. Couples are welcome to decorate and personalize the space for their wedding.
We simply ask that decorations do not damage walls, pews, floors, or furniture. We’ll provide detailed decorating guidelines before your wedding day.
Can we bring our own vendors?
Absolutely.
You’re welcome to use your own. We do not require exclusive vendor lists.
Is there parking on-site?
Yes. There is free on-site parking all around the property.
